The story of Wrangler Studios

A man, a mixing desk, and a dog. Wrangler’s story begins in December of 2012 when it was a blank, four-walled warehouse space hidden within the industrial scape of West Footscray. 9 years on, Wrangler Studios grew into one of the busiest all-ages live music venues and creative spaces in Victoria. Holding 100+ shows a year, ranging from a bands first show, to international instant sell out shows.

Wrangler Studios offers a safe, inclusive, and diverse environment for musicians, visual artists, photographers, and production professionals. Our core belief is that every individual should have their freedom of expression, and through Wrangler we are committed to providing these avenues to young creatives. We especially encourage the youth to reach out if they are seeking work experience or guidance in possible pathways to realising their creative goals.

Bands that have graced the Wrang stage include: La Dispute (USA) Waterparks (USA), Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes (USA), Tiny Moving Parts (USA) Neck Deep (UK), Basement (UK), Jeff Rosenstock (USA) and home-grown talent like Trophy Eyes, Skegss, Lime Cordiale, Spacey Jane Northeast Party House and Tkay Midza.

As of 2022, we’ve left the gigs behind us. We’ve renovated and develop[ed a new recording studio. Instead of holding AA shows, we’ll be recording the next huge bands & providing an education space while doing so.

We’ve got a lot in the pipeline; so stay tuned for what’s to come!

Wrangler Studios is located on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge them as the traditional owners of this land and wish to pay respect to their Elders past, present and future as well as Elders of communities around Australia. We acknowledge that this land was never ceded nor a treaty signed.
